The Britten-Norman BN2-2A Mk III-2 Trislander, first manufactured in the early 1970s, is an aircraft known for its STOL capabilities. Registration number G-JOEY, operated by Aurigny Air Services from June 1979 to June 2015, was based at Guernsey Airport in the Channel Islands. This bright yellow plane with a red nose and propeller spinners was the flagship of the Trislander fleet, loved by passengers and crew alike. The aircraft features a high main wing, a boxy fuselage, and three Lycoming engines, with notable performance statistics including a cruising speed under 170 mph, a service ceiling of 13,300 feet, and the ability to take off in just 2,000 feet of runway. The Trislander, particularly G-JOEY, is celebrated by both pilots and aviation enthusiasts for its visual appeal and performance.
